Custom Query and Data view

Hi,

I m trying to create a web part page (for Microsoft Sharepoint) in Frontpage. What I want to do is to show some salesstatistic in a table. The statistic comes from some SQL-server tables. I have found a way to display data from one table in a list (the create database connection...), but how do a show the result from a SQL-query that gets data from several tables?

Hi,

Open you database application,  then create a query that comes from many tables,  then save the query in your application (Access or whatever).  Go to Frontpage and connect to that query instead of a table.

Example:
-----------
Staff, Orders, OrderDetails

Create a query for the staff and the related orders and the details of each order.  Name the query as StaffOrders,  then go to frontpage,  select the database name,  then from the database select the StaffOrders (view).  This is how to display information from more than one table.

I tried to create a view, but when I then in Frontpage enter the database name only tables show up as select options. It says "tables, views or stored procedure:" But shows only tables... So strange.

Yes it is strange,  Frontpage should list the views too.

If the data are not changeable daily, change the query from a select query into make table query.  Let the query create a table with information from many tables.  This way the table will be listed.

By the way,  what are you using?  SQL server or MS Access?
