Groupwise 6.5 View Attachments
We have Groupwise 6.5 and it seems to have an automatic attachment viewer built into it. When you click on the attachment file it opens up inside of the message, it slow , very annoying and I would love to disable but I can't find out how. I am not talking about the message viewer that can be turned off in you main mailbox. This one is after you double click the message and then click one of the attachment files. Double clicking it will open it its program but I can't do that till it opens up in the viewer. Does anyone know how I can turn this off.
Yep, this is easily configured. In the main GroupWise window, click on Tools, then Options. Double-click the Environment icon, click the Default Actions tab. You can change the default action for Viewing Attachments from the internal GroupWise viewer to the application associated with that attachment.

No they have changed the options in 6.5 and no such option like that anymore.
I just found this on the novel site in the groupwise help.
Comment: Is there any way that the single-click viewing of the document can be disabled?
Response: No. When you select an attachment, it is always displayed in the Read view. When you open an attachment, GroupWise uses the Windows Click Items setting under Control Panel > Folder Options > General, where you can choose between single-clicking and double-clicking to open items.

Well, I was operating from memory when I wrote that, because I didn't have a GroupWise client in front of me at the time. Now that I do, I can say that the Windoze Folder settings doesn't have anything to do with whether or not GroupWise will use its internal viewer or launch the associated application when an attachment is selected (altho that may affect whether it takes a double-click or a single-click for GroupWise to act upon an attachment).
Instead, this is controlled from within the GroupWise client. At the main window, click on Tools and select Options. Double-click on the Environment icon, and select the Default Actions tab. To have GroupWise use the associated application instead of its internal viewer, click the Open Attachment radio button in the File Attachments portion of that pane. Click OK and then Close.

FYI, EE has added a GroupWise TA --> https://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/Groupwise/

That is fine for cleaning it up but there is no way at this point to do what I am trying to do. What I am trying to do is get Groupwise to stop previewing the file when I click on the attachment. I can make it open its real program but you can not stop the annoying preview.
OK.
Then probably the recommendation should be PAQ-refund...
