Check your UPS is charging or not if battery is low then your system will shutdown auto matically

the UPS printer is a typeo. It should be a USB printer. The PC is a desktop and I checked the control pannel to se if it thaught it had a UPS.

the evelt log says that the computer was rebooted from a bugcheck.

again any thaughts.

I'd start with getting the latest motheboard drivers from the manufacturer and installing them.  USB was designed to be properly plugandplay, and this shouldn't have happened.

You may also want to check the contents of the eventlog - Start.. Run.. Eventvwr  <ok> and see if there are any errors at the same time as the disconnect.  If so, go and check www.eventid.net for these.

Just as a wild idea, are both these devices connected to the same power strip?  Does it still occur if they have their own WALL sockets?  Just trying to find out if there's some powerstrip problems, or it's related to USB.  It wouldn't hurt to try a different usb cable if you have one...
