I take it you're in the UK?

Go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Regional and Language Options

Make sure both of the drop-down boxes are set to United Kingdom.

Next click the Languages Tab --> Details

Ensure the Default input languag is set to English (United Kingdom) - United Kingdom

Click remove on the US option if it under then Installed Services section.

Now click on the Advanced Tab and make sure that is on UK aswell.

Hope this helps :)
