Exchange 5.5 permissions for Exmerge...

I'll start by saying that I have never used Exchange 5.5 or NT 4.0 and I'm not infront of the box to just dink around until I find the answer (I'd rather know how to do it when I arrive). I am migrating one of our sister companies to Exchange 2003 soon from Exchange 5.5 over this weekend.

Can anyone give/link me step by step instructions on setting up an account to use with exmerge on Exchange 5.5?

I found a couple of places that tell me which permissions to add, but not how to add them.

In the Exchange Admin program, go to the properties of the Organization container.
Add the account you will use when running EXMERGE.
Give it Service Account Admin rights.
Do the same thing in the following containers:

CONFIGURATION

Ah, that's where I was confused.

I thought it was 3-4 different permissions that needed to be added for send/recieve rights.

Thanks!

Not in Exchange 5.5. You basically need to have Service Account Admin rights (the ability to access all mailboxes) to use EXMERGE.

It is different when you get to importing into Exchange 2003. But the same thory applies.
Check the MS Knowledge Base for those steps.

I found the steps for 2000/2003 on MS KB already.

Thanks again for your assistance!
