Anyone know how to resolve this for all users?  I have users logging onto Citrix servers and need to fix it for all users not just the current user as per the Microsoft KB 825765.  Has anyone tried creating the registry key in HKLM on the server?

    Accepted Solution

The mentioned KB talks about a HKCU key, a HKCU key applies to any user the logs into the server, via terminal services, or citrix. So you can use the workaround from the MS KB.

I'm using an HKCU key to disable the shutdown button, so the users logging in the terminal server don't accidentally shutdown the server instead of logging off.

OK, I thought that when I set a key in HKCU it would only apply the setting for the user currently logged in.  In my case, that would be me being logged on trying to make the change.

I'll give it a shot and make sure it makes the change for any user that logs on.
