A bit of advice please?

I am setting up a Network with Server 2003 and 8PC's.

They were previously on Broadband but it is not available at new premises. Hence havimg to use ISDN

If I place an XP Pro SP2 machine with a PCI modem and let that control the connection, would the Windows Firewall be adequate protection for the Network, or should I look at putting a router in?

Also if I do this will the server automatically pick up traffic say for a mail server, or I am I just being STUPID here.

My instincts are that it wouldn't be very safe, and I wouldn't be able to set up Port forwadring for a mail server (etc)

You'll want a router most likely. I've never seen a pci ISDN card... isdn is basically 2 64k modems ... oh here's one cool
XP's firewall is good at one thing, blocking incoming traffic, other than that it's not very useful. I can't FWD port's and it can't allow any exceptions to the block's it does do. A router can do portforwarding and access control list's that are much more configurable- even a firewall like a cisco pix can do the same thing.
