Remote Desktop Crashes When Loging In

Hello,

Odd situation... We have a computer hooked up to the TV with XP Pro and want to be able to login with RDC.  This works, but only if the user is already logged in... so if I go to the computer and login, then go to my laptop and connect, it works - if I am not logged in to the computer and I try to login directly using the laptop and RDC, it crashes... it looks like it's logging in, but it doesn't show the icons... then it just crashes out...

Any thoughts?

OK... to clarify... I just realized that it's not actually crashing... it's immediately logging me out before I can do anything... once again, if I log into the computer before attempting a remote connection, everything works fine...

Ahh, add your account to the remote desktop users in the user groups section of administrative tools.

Hello... I actually got it figured out late last night... my account is an admin account, so it should be working... it was the NVidia driver... aparently this is a known problem, I basically installed the latest video driver and things worked...

Thanks,

Mike

How about closing off the question and giving credit where credits due, or if you feel no response was required closing your question!

I don't care about the points, and your answer could have been right... so I don't mind sending them your way... But...

For future reference to anyone reading this, with SP2, the default NVidia drivers don't work right with a remote desktop connection... This is discussed here:
