    Accepted Solution

Are you looking for somewhere to register a domain name for free?  If so, you're out of luck.  You can't get a domain for free, although there are a few places you can get a free domain name with the purchase of other services, ie. web hosting - although it's not a good idea to register a domain name through your hosting company.  You are better off registering with a third party domain registrar.  There are several good domain registrars that are quite inexpensive.  I use myself.  Their services & support are excellent and their prices are very competitive.

    Assisted Solution

About the cheapest you can get is 1and1 at $5.99 a domain, but their service and features are quite lacking (if not terrible).  Humeniuk is correct on GoDaddy (although I personally don't care for their user interface myself), many people find them reliable and with good support.  I think it would be worth spending the extra $2.96.
