URGENT!! For some reason, when I open Adobe InDesign, I can't seem to open the palette for color swatches that looks like a matrix of colors.

The only colors i have are the ones displayed in a vertical row, probably about 12 different colors.  I would have to look up the RGB numbers, say for instance, purple, and input them to get that color. Also, when I tried to load color swatches from the InDesign directory, I got the error message "Cannot load....either these files are not of type InDesign or they are corrupt"..  Please help. Thanks.

Hi Sheana,

This is the workaround:

Go to Window>Swatches (InDesign 2.x and CS). From the flyout menu hit New Color Swatch. Select the Pantone swatch library you wish to use, click on a colour and hit Add to add it to your Swatches palette. You can add as many colours as you need this way and then hit Done when you're finished.

Good Vibes!

By the way, the reason for the problem is a glitch where InDesign CS can't import Illustrator files with certain features (the colour swatches are Illustrator files). If you take the colour swatches from Illustrator 9 and open them in InDesign using the Load Swatches option they do work.
