Arcserve initialize database
My harddisk is out of space now. Can reinitializing Arcserve database free up the space? When I try to reinitialize the database, I get error: Failed to initialize database. Please close other Arcserve application to try again.
However, no other Arcserve application was opened.

You might want to consider reducing the retention time for the DB Pruning job. The default is 30 days, but if you can get by with less then the Database will be maintained at a smaller size and hopefully prevent this problem from coming up again.
To modify the DB prune job go into the ARCserve Server Admin, select the cog&wrench icon for Configuration and then Database tab. There you can configure the DB Prune job.
