Does anybody know whether the MS Bluetooth API is usable from Smart Device Applications built using Visual Basic .Net 2003 and deployed to CE.Net computers? I need to be able to assign a comm port to a Bluetooth address from within an application and it seems that the API has a function able to do this.

If there is a version of the API suitable for VB .Net then where can I download this from?

Hi Pirie,

you may find snooping round the MSDN useful: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/wcebluet/html/ceconCOMPortEmulationFacility.asp  <-- see if this helps

This site is also bound to come in handy: http://www.opennetcf.org/CategoryView.aspx?category=Home It contains examples and other useful reference-based information for .Net development for Bluetooth / Smart Device applications.

Hope that helps,
