Password Policy Not Working

I am trying to implement the password policy.  I created a new policy on the Domain level, but none of the setting seem to be taking place.  I can changer my password to what ever I want and the policy does not seem to be taking effect.  Please reply.  Urgent.  I am giving max pionts on this.

    Password Policy on what?  Windows?  Linux?  How and with what did you create this password policy?

    Please provide more information about this.

    have you refreshed the policy?

    (i take it you did it in Group policy editor?)  and not local security policy

    on 2k3 the new command is

    Have you used the "default domain security settings" in the administrative tools to set this policy? If that doen't help, you might have a GPO set (mmc, group policy editor snap-in...). You'll have to check the settings for the OU in question.
