Problems with setup of a SMTP gateway. (postfix)

On our DMZ we got a debian box with postfix that i want to configure so that we forward all incoming mail to our exchange server. The debian box is the MX for our domain.

I get mail locally delivered on the debian box, but i cant figure out how to forward all mails to our exchange server. The debian box is also the outgoing SMTP server for the exchange server.

anybody?

You'll want to setup a transport map in postfix. To do this you add something like:

transport_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/transport

then create a file in /etc/postfix directory called: transport
and then put in the domain you want to relay for and the ip address of the machine you want it to be forwarded to in the following format (obviously you'll need to put your real domain and ip address here):

yourdomain.com smtp:[192.168.0.10]

then:

postmap hash:/etc/postfix/transport

and:

postfix check

and:

postfix reload

Now all mail coming in will be passed on to your exchange server.

You should be writing howto's for postfix! :)
