Users can access a share, but very same users placed into a group cannot.

There are no explicit or implicit denials of access for the share in question.  If I grant an individual user access to the folder in question, they can access it with no problem.  If I grant access to the group (containing the very same members previously added individually) the users cannot get in.  To rule out that the group itself was the problem, i created a brand new security group, added the users in question, and still got the same result.  This is a windows 2000 server, thanks.

permissions granted by group membership require either a reboot of logoff/logon. Permissions granted to USER objects (i.e. not through group membership are applied immediately)
