On Line Schools

Due to so many offerings on the web, where should I go to get an overview of on line schools?  I assume a lot of these
schools are selling the same thing, that is, they're buying the classes and simply packaging and marketing them on their site.
I assume there are a few on line schools that are better than most?  My current problem is too many choices.
My area of interest is the Windows operating system, Java, and .Net
I currently do not have a goal of getting certified.

There is the other route of buying educational CD's if someone knows a good source of educational CD's.

I would say check eBay before buying anything.  You are likely to find it cheaper.  There are also many tutorials available on the web for free or you can buy a good book (ask in each topic area) and follow that.  You can ask for help with things you do not understand on this site as well.

The University of Phoenix is the only real online school as far as I'm concerned. If you would like to take courses online, I would recommend you register for online classes at your local university. Practically all Colleges and Universities offer online classes now (talking about real schools here....).

Even the local junior colleges offer online classes, and you'll receive full course credit. The added advatage from taking online classes from your local school is that if you need help, you can go to the school and sit down with the professor in person.

Basically what I'm getting at is don't waste your time with some online non sense that is not an accredited school.
