Very strange problem. Checkboxes are black in windows

Very strange problem.  We have a ghost clone we use on all of our Dell workstations. I noticed under Local Area Connection properties, some checkboxes are black!?!?!
See pic here  http://www.streetneeds.com/uploads/misc/clip_image001.gif

I cannot uncheck file/print sharing. This is also causing issues for Norton Corporate virus. I cannot scan drives because the checkbox is blacked out. Anybody have any ideas?
thanks

Are your video drivers up to date?

Heres the thing, we are using special video cards in this machine. Barco video cards w/Barco drivers. It's a medical device thing to view mammorgraphy images.

I could understand if the checkboxes were black due to videocard problem, but that wouldnt explain why I cannot "uncheck" the boxes..

Right???

How do you know that you can't uncheck them?  by looking at that image, you could check/uncheck the box and not really know if the change was made unless you tried to apply the new settings.  But maybe you already tried this??  I would get a different video card and install it to see if you can make changes then, and if that works put the original card in and then you will know that it's the drivers/video card that you have in there that's causing the problem.

Yea, I tried. You cant check/uncheck any of the boxes. Very very very weird.   Unfortunately, I have tried the new Barco video cards, same thing.
Even when you view Device Manager, it lists the devices with a big black box on the left (so you cant expand them)
