LAN tab has address: http:\127.0.0.18080/proxyconf

I just installed Norton Antivirus 5.

While commentiong a question about Lan settings I found the 'use automatic configuration script checked!
Address: http://127.0.0.18080/proxyconf. Could the Norton AV 2005 re configured my lan settings?

Could be , but something's wrong with that address anyway.
It should be :  http://127.0.0.1:8080/proxyconf
note the colon (:) between fourth number ( .1)  in IP octet  and default port ( 8080)  !
that's address and the port Norton AV is probably redirecting and intercepting all regusts for POP,IMAP, HTTP and FTP to monitor traffic and files.

You are right it was a typo. I guess Norton AV 2005 made the change.

I noted the change on the cd rom and it's backup for future use.

Thanks
