I tried to access a very simple hello world web service from a windows application. When the web service is invoked it gives the error "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Object Not Found.".

Since the web service is in the local machine i decided to goto IIS and browse the asmx file. The page for the asmx displayed properly displaying the HelloWorld method. When i clicked invoke, a new window openned with the message "Page not found".

Can you help???

I made a new web service, uncommented the HelloWorld sample web method given. I am able to browse the asmx from IIS. I am able to see the Hello world method. When i click the method the invoke button is seen. When i click Invoke a new window opens with 404 page not found.

I think it is some problem with the settings and not with the code.
Please help
