and how do you connect to the server?
ASKER
I set up a passthrough on firewall and point it to ip of the my machine in the office..(not sure if this is what you asked...)
right, is the server running ICF? the default pcAnywhere port numbers are 5631 (Data Port or TCP) and 5632 (Status Port or UDP, is that setup as well? it could be firewall encryption which is being removed when the connection is made, bcoz pcanywhere negotiate encryption when creating connection!
ASKER
huh.......what does that mean? (sorry)
icf..internet connection firewall??
ASKER
Yes....so, that means pcanywhere can not use encryption ? thx

what is the os version on client and server?
pcAnywhere supports three levels of encryption:
pcAnywhere encryption
Symmetric encryption
Public key encryption
have you setup any of these? and is it same on both ends?
