I have Windows XP pro SP2 on my machine. This scanner was working perfectly on this machine till yerterday. However, I had to format my machine and I have reinstalled XP pro again. Now XP is not recognizing this scanner. I have done everything possible to make this scanner work but no use. Please help.

Sethi,

There's a number of issues here. First, what led you to reform and reinstall? Are other CDs working, or is there a problem with your CD drive? What behavior do you see when you try to install the scanner. If you are following their directions, they usually want you to load the drivers before you connect the scanner. Have you tried connecting the scanner and using the "Found New Hardware" wizard to load the drivers?

If the problem is just that for some reason you can't read the drivers from the CD, the most current drivers for your scanner are here: http://www.benq.us/ServiceAndSupport/Drivers/drivers.cfm?product=91

Just to add to the above info..I have been provided with a CD that installs the drivers when I press MiraScan link and this is also not working now.

Thanks for the points and the "A". I assume you got it working?

Yes. It is working now. But strange thing happened. I installed the drivers that you suggested and XP warned me against using the drivers. I still went ahead and the scanner started working. I then uninstalled the drivers and installed the original ones and they also worked. I then realized that I should not try to understand how Windows work with USB. To me it will always be a dilemma :-)

But thank you for your help.
