Server 2003 Service Pack 1 problems

Yes, I just installed Server 2003 Service Pack 1 - and am now UNABLE to download MS Updates. When I go to Windows Update- it sais:

Windows Update cannot continue because a required service application is disabled. Windows Update requires the following services:
Automatic Updates enables detection, downloading, and installation of critical updates for your computer.
Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) enables faster, restartable downloading of updates.
Event Log logs Windows Update events for troubleshooting. To ensure that these services are enabled:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type services.msc and then click OK.
3. In the list of services, right-click the service name, and then click Properties.
4. In the Startup type list, select Automatic.
5. Verify that the service status is started.

If this does not resolve the problem you may request help from one of the following resources.

**** The firewall is disables (as it comes with SP1). What could be the problem here?? Maybe IE ??

There is no backoffice 2003. Microsoft took back sp1 for SBS 2003

Do you think this might be a browser security problem on the server (ie. it may be blocking the updates?) Once I browse to the MS Update site, when it usually sais Checking for Updates- I get that error page saying I am unable to install any updates. I have the BITS, Auto Updates, and Event Log services enabled (as requested by MS) and I get the error. I am able to update the other 2003 server (no SP1) and 2000 servers. All client machines on my network are able to update. Strangley, one of my Windows 2000 servers is unable to update as well (and what is weird is it has the most updated IE6). Arghhhh.

Do you have a policy that blocks downloads from Windows update. Check on the w2k3 box with rsop.msc from the run window and see what policies are applied and if any have a setting about windows update
