There should be a sticker on your hard-drive to put the jumper to the specific pin to make it master or slave. What hard drive do you have?

You need to specify which hard drive you have, because they they are a little different for different manufacturers.  Here's one for Maxtor: http://www.maxtor.com/_files/maxtor/en_us/documentation/jumper_settings/style_c.htm

How to make drive master or slave

Seagate:
http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/disc/howto/use_dw2002.html

IBM:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=make+slave&uid=psg1MIGR-4RZVKB&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=en

I would still strongly suggest to look at the sticker of the drive.
