System locks with Trainning CD

I'm using CD's to learn V.B. .NET, the trouble is that sometimes the disk locks up the system, this is an intermittant thing, it doesn't happen everytime, I can go through the lessons and pause and skip ahead, but then at another time doing any of that will lock up my system and if I turn the system off and then reboot I might or might not be able to continue.  I've tried other disks and they work without a problem, is there anything I can do to rectify this problem?

    Accepted Solution

You can make a copy of the CD and run from the copy.  I have had Windows installation CDs that wouldn't work, but the copy works fine.

You can also try copying the CD to the hard drive and running it from the hard drive.

Thanks Callandor, I copied the original to another disk and it seems to work, because I have so many lesson disks, I will try copying them to the hard drive as I need them, again, thanks
