cannot receive mail from POP account Outlook 2003

I have 2 accounts with Outlook 2k3. 1 uses the local exchange server (part of SBS 2000) and one is an internet POP account cannot receive on this account. this worked intially but suddenly stopped with the following error.
Task 'emailaccountname@domain.com - Receiving' reported error (0x80040125) : 'Changes made to the item were lost due to a reconnect with the server.'
Nothing here of on the Web reveals anything about this error, anybody here may know something?

If you haven't tried recreating the pop account in outlook yet, you may want to give that a try.

That's what I did in the end and that cleared the error although I am curious to know why or how it happened and if there's some underlying reason that I could prevent this from happening in the future
