Hi hitech, seems to me, that your mail server is asking you for validation prior to send mail.

All looks like you have rules at your server denying relay mails, this can make that when connecting from outside for sending a mail to an outside adress, it first checks if you are "from the inside", this is the validation part.

You need to validate yourself for that (username and password).

Hope this helps, is all I can say with the info you post.

Furthermore on this, if you are using Outlook or outlook express, check the option that states something as "My server requires autentication"

Sounds like this "protective" software has placed itself between your Postfix and your mailbox, and doesn't want to accept any incoming mails. You may have to adjust it accordingly.

You need to setup the Trend AV gateway as an allowed mail relay on your mail server.  Which mail server do you use ?

For Exchange..
