No Sound from Apps
Win 98SE
Recently Windows Media player, Real player etc have not been able to get the sound out through the sound card. The apps appear to function fine, the visulizations in media player indicate it is interpreting sound and "thinks" it is playing the wav, mpg and avi files.
On initial boot the machine does sound the normal Windows boot sound, so I take it the sound card hardware is functioning OK.
Would appreciate step-by-step troubleshooting to locate the problem.
Thanks, Nigel

Thx. ALthough "Unmuted" in the audio check box, "muting" and then "unmuting" again seemed to solve it...
