Im looking into a solution that would allow me to page an extension (different ringer then the usual one) how can I do that?
does the 7960 have paging capabilities? is there a way to make asterisk page all phones at once? like press *500 and then be on speakerphone on all the phones that arnt currently in use?

I use the Sipura SPA-841 phones and I can set the variable _ALERT_INFO which gets passed to the phone and overides the default ring tone. I use this to select a different tone for calls coming from the PRI line (external calls).
Maybe the 7960 has a similar feature?

    Hi T0masz,

It is possible, but requires quite a bit of effort.
You need to set up another line appearance on the 7960, and set that one to auto-answer.
You then initiate a conference call, which calls all of the phones on their auto-answer line.

You can find the details of doing this at

    I've not done this myself, as a I don't have a 7960 to play with :-(

    Good luck!
