Re-posted to the correct question:

Hi,

When using OWA:

Compose a new email
Click on To button

This will bring up a "find names" dialog

Enter the persons name and click search.

This is not exactly like using the global address book, but is the closest thing to it in exchange

Slipstick, a great Outlook resource, has listed a number of addins for Outlook Web Access  (http://www.slipstick.com/exs/owa.htm).

A free solution exists for OWA using Exchange 5.5 - I do not know if it will work with Exchange 2000.

A third-party solution which appears to address your signature and GLA needs is the Plus Pack 2000 for Outlook Web Access (http://www.messageware.com/products/pluspack2k.html).
