I have a lab of computers networked through a Novell queue to a HP 4050N. There are about 20 pcs running Windows 2000 and 5 that have XP. All of the computers have been printing fine until about 3 weeks ago. All of the XP machines are still able to print with no problem. Anything printed from a Windows 2000 computer will print the first page and then blank pages for anything else that is printed. So in a three page document the first page would print fine - then 2 sheets of blank paper. If it was a web page being printed pages 2 and 3 would only have the address in the header and footer. I have tried web pages and Office documents. I have also installed a different HP printer - completely different model - the same thing happens. I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Have you recreated the print queu on the novell server?
Have you tried connecting directly via lpt or tcp/ip to the printer and testing it that way?

With a Novell server you can auto-propagate the drivers to the PCs. Hence, if your server is set to do that and something happened to the Win2K driver on the server, it would affect all Win2K PCs.

In that case I would suggest uninstalling the driver from the server (manually removing the driver files if necessary) and then reinstalling.

Vanderwee's suggestion of using a direct tcp/ip port from a PC is a good one - it will let you check whether the problem is in the driver or not.

These were lab computers and had not had any updates installed for some reason. Installing IE 6 service pack 1 fixed my problem. Thanks for your responses.
