Load Dynamic Dropdown Lists

I tried researching this on this site myself, but I'm such a cold fusion rookie I can't apply what I'm finding.  Here's what I need to do.  I have two dropdown lists on the same webpage.  I'm populating the first dropdown using cfquery going against my database.  I need to polulate the second list after the user has chosen a value from the first list.  for example:

web page loads, loading the possible values into list one.  at this point list2 is not loaded.  user selects a value from dropdown list1.  at this point, the page loads list2 based on what is selected in list1.

can someone help me out here?
