    Accepted Solution

You use the Windows Authentication when you want the Windows account of the user running the DTS job to be used when connecting to SQL Server.  If the user running the DTS job does not have enough permission to connect to SQL Server, then you can use the SQL Server authentication where you provide the user name and password that the DTS job will use to connect to SQL Server.

    Hope this helps.

if you have choice  - use 'windows authentication' for security  (just check - SQL server permissions and if need NTFS permissions too)
