what a function to spy modifying in windows registry

Hi experts,

I want to protect my services when user use "regedit" or "services" program to modify them. I think that I can hook a api function that change registry in windows to prevent. But I don't know what a api function to do it.

Could you tell me that function name? or give me your solution in protecting services?

Let me give you a trick:

1. Use shell hook to trap CreateWindow.
2. from the handle of the window find the title of the application.
3. Now don't allow any kind of events to propagate to this window (eat up all events in your hook module).

Remember to start you hook with an application at startup.

Set an appropriate ACL on the registry keys.
