spam in my outlook email box

hi all,

i have some issues that have got me scratching my head.

1. i have been getting lots of blank message with attachments from addresses i dont know and some i do. not every1 on my domain gets it.

2. i also get reports that some people receive the same from our domain

3. we also cant and have never sent emails to 1 particular domain ( from ours, emails keep bouncing back, but go through from other domain such as yahoo or hotmail

    These are characteristic of viruses.  Not necessarily that you or members of your company are infected but rather that someone that has you in their contacts is infected.  The virus will spam out messages using names from the infected users Outlook in the from field....this makes in virtualy impossible to track down who is actually the infected user....

    agreed, the best you can do is filter on the most common part of those email (whether 'from contains' 'subject contains' and such) if you want to try to filter them.

    You also should verify you don't have open relay open on your server, if you do and it's possible you are blacklisted by the domain you can't send to .
