Services.exe error and shutdown message

I've just installed win 2003 server. When I startup the server I get the message "error services.exe is shutting down". I click ok, wait for several minutes and then appears a message telling that due to an error, the server will reboot within 60 seconds, counting down. Behind that window I see the login prompt, but I'm unable of accessing it.

Any ideas? The counting down message seems like a virus, is it?  How can I fix the problem?

best regards,

All my reg-entries were OK, but after I restarted the computer again in normal mode it worked fine again (I've restarted the computer at least 10 times before, with the error remaining).

    Well, it worked :)
