New Citrix Server

We have two Citrix XPa servers in our farm, and we have today added a third server.  It is Windows 2003, installed with Citrix XPa, sp4, but when trying to publish an application through the server, we get the following error:

The server cannot be located. It may be offline or no longer in the farm.

The server is listed in the management console, and this error occurs when I open the list of available servers when creating a new application.  The other servers open to their drives, except this new one.

Any ideas?

Did you check to make sure ALL servers are on the same Feature release?  If they aren't all on the same exact SP and FR you will get a multitude of different errors all over the place.

All should be on SP4, and all are set to same version and Feature Release.

It appears there are no licenses applied to the new server - where as the others all list the XPa and FR licenses individually.

Prepare for your VMware VCP6-DCV exam.

Josh Coen and Jason Langer have prepared the latest edition of VCP study guide. Both authors have been working in the IT field for more than a decade, and both hold VMware certifications. This 163-page guide covers all 10 of the exam blueprint sections.

When you added it to your farm, did you add licenses to accomodate another server?

I do not remember seeing any options to add extra licenses - and if I remember rightly, you can have as many servers as required in the farm, it is the client connections that make a difference.

That's true, but you need a FR license for each server don't you?  Maybe not, it's been a while since I setup my farm.

I tried to  add a license to the new server using the Citrix license for XPa, but the server says it is already registered. It believes it is part of the farm anyway.

I will have to agree with LarryHo, appears that you have permission issues, are you sure you made your administrator member of the local-administrator group on the new server?
