Adobe After Effects Crash

I have just purchased and installed Adobe After Effects.  When I try to run the program for the first time I get the following message:  After Effects error:  crash occurred while invoking plug-in "OpenGL 3D".   Can anyone help?

It's OK. I guess you already use 32 bit video colors.

But there are a lot of steps involved in diagnosing and fixing the problem. First step will be to use Ati uninstaller to remove all ATi related drivers and software and reinstall the last video drivers from Ati site. Follow the document from Adobe site.

I have to know what OS do you use. Minimum is Windows 2000 with SP4 or XP for AE 6 and XP SP1 for AE 6.5.

The video card must be opengl 1.2 compatible and have a minimum of 64 MB Memory.

More information here, maybe you use a MAC, and there are other considerations:

I have Windows XP, Service Pack 2. My video card is 128 DDR ATI Radeon 9800.

Thanks, when I read your first comment about my video card I decided to go to the ATI site and noticed a Catalyst driver for Win XP.  I didn't uninstall anything I just downloaded and installed this driver.  I went back to After Effects and it opened right up.  I never realized I needed to updated drivers.  Everything seems to be working fine now, thanks.
