cant see any values after enabling quotas on my disk

I have recently turned on quotas on my local hard drive and also on one my network servers.

I have added the list of users I want to monitor (myself included) so far  the amount used for each user is 0 bytes?

Do I have to run something in order for the quota to update the values?

    Accepted Solution

disk quotas apply to files created AFTER the quota was created.  Any files created before them are exempt from the quota limit.  Try adding a file to the disk and see if the number goes up from 0 bytes, it should since it would be a file created after the quota was created.  Sorry, but thats the way Windows built in quotas work.
