interfacing to pstn

Say I developed a pc to pc voip application, and now want to add
the ability for people to make calls from ip to pstn...

what is the easiest way to integrate this into my application, without having to
install any hardware..

is their a service where i can lease 'X' number of pstn minutes from a phone carrier
for 'Y' dollars,, get given some password and a protocol, which can be used
to send packets to , which does the whole ip->pstn thing...

    To achieve toll quality, you have to choose from your local VOIP providers, also you can use Skype or similar, just buy some time of them ...

    You can certainly provide your own VOIP->PSTN termination but setting this up is not a simple matter. I would suggest starting with an existing provider that can handle that termination for you. Here are a few to get you started:
