MSDE + Web Data Admin

Hello

I downloaded MSDE and extracted the package. After the installation i opened the command prompt, went to the directory that it's installed i run this command:

Setup.exe INSTANCENAME=xxxx SAPWD=xxxx SECURITYMODE=SQL

Everything went smoothly. Then i installed Web Data Admin and went to this page "http://localhost/webadmin/default.aspx".
I choose SQL Login as Authentication Method and for the other fields i have:

username: sa
password: xxxx
Server: (local)\xxxx           <-- the instance i created

I still cannot log in as it gives me the msg "Invalid username and/or password, you are using a windows login that is not your own, or server does not exist."

Can you help? By the way i have used for the instance name and the password the same word and also in the machine i have installed the SQL Server Connectivity Tools to connect this machine to a server....if that info is any useful to you.

I downloaded the sql2kdesksp3 file from microsoft..around 70MB. Extracted the contents and then run the setup from the command prompt with the line as i wrote above.
Then i found WDA and installed that as well. So i go to this page and login seems to be impossible.
Maybe my registry is not configured for SQL authentication mode?
