hello...
easy problem...
you know why?
it's because on your P/S keyboard, your num lock is on. or scroll lock.
please make sure that all you plug the P/S 2 keyboard back to the laptop, unlock all button, plug the keyboard out, you are set.
:p
i got headache before as well. but i found it no problem.
the reason why it happens is because your laptop's key structure are not the same with the keybord structure.
so basically, one of the locks will cause the Fn key on the laptop turned on all the time.
you will have problem with keys that have an alternate value if the Fn is pressed together.
so.. hope this really solve your problem. it's been two months hanging here. :p

Resynchronize the keyboard and mouse using the connect buttons found on the bottom of the keyboard, mouse and base.
Use the appropriate instructions for your model. Some are found here- http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?CONTENTID2=0&CRID=1792&CONTENTID=4549&PAGE=support/products/document&SHOWALLDOCUMENTS=0&AD=PE_FAQ&countryid=19&languageid=1
If the updates and resynch do not fix you let us know which model mouse/keyboard combo you have please.
