COM 3 Port

  I am trying to connet using Hyperterminal and COM 3. says COM 3 is in use.  How can I set COM 3 to hyperterminal?

    Hyper terminal can show more COM ports on the list than you have in your computer. Check in Device Manager, if you have COM 3 port available.

    It's available but when it's selected it says that it's already in use.

    Accepted Solution

    Some application used the port before, and did not returned it to the system. Maybe some DOS mode driver, or application. Or maybe the mouse is connected to COM3.
