Messages stuck in Local Delivery Queue
Were using Exchange Server 2K3 and noticed that messages seemed to be stuck in the Local Delivery queue. The first indication that something was wrong is when we got the "16 meg limit error" for the Mailbox Store. We did a backup the entire First Storage Group and the did a maintenance defrag. Afterwards, the messages stop flowing. All stores are mounter and all services are running. I restarted the server a few times and still the same thing. I did a force conection, unfreeze ; tried freezing all but a few messages to see if they would trickle in - nothing working. Now, I am also noticing a few messages being held up in some of the Internet Mail SMTP connectors. I checked and I don't think we have SP1 on the server. Any suggestions?

I found the solution. I dismounted the stores, then added 1 GIG of storage by modifying the registy ( Microsoft article 828070 - Exchange Server Mailbox Store does not mount when the mailbox Store database reaches the 16-GB limit). After adding the space, I defraged the database using the ESEutil using the /d and /t option. When that was complete , i made sure that all the services pertinent to this issue were restarted and mail started flowing. jelder0628
