LUCOMS~1.EXE in Prefetch
hi, recently i got the req.dat trojan dropper virus, and (i think!) i've got rid of it. i deleted lucoms~1.exe in prefetch cause i thought i was a virus. its in my recycle bin now, and i think i might be able to restore it. i've also got a few other problems with my computer:
1. when i restart, the work offline window pops up, but when i click try again, the connection is ok, and it doesn't pop up again, just whenever i start my computer.
2. sometimes when i surf the net, the application bar suddenly disappears, like this:

3. i want to format my dell computer. its a dimension 4700 and it came with 9 CDs out of which one is red and says operating system, reinstallation CD MIcrosoft Windows XP Home Edition including serive pack 1a at the top
im not very computer-savvy, so if you could, please explain the procedures step by step. thank you

I have to agree that format and reinstall is the best way of removing virus/spyware...but by any chances U feel that it is too troublesome... guess u might wanna try to use spybot or lavasoft adware to remove spywares...

That step will prolly fix the two other problems....

i restored lucoms~1.exe and so far the working offline window hasnt popped up and my explorer is running fine.
Does that mean you are finished now J0llyhunter?
