Combine Wired and Wireless Networking??

Greetings:

I am presently using Verizon DSL, through a Westell Model 2200 DSL modem which is connected to a D-Link DI-604 router.  I have 3 computers connected to the DI-604 with CAT-5.

I would like to know if I can connect a WIRELESS router to the remaining port on the DI-604 so that I can use the wireless feature of my new notebook computer?

I am not interested in changing the whole system to wireless, for a number of reasons.

Thank you for your prompt and concise reply.  Would it be more economical for me to buy a wireless router as you suggest or to buy something I heard about called an "access point?"

Karl
Well an access point will probably be cheaper but harder to configure.  You can get a nice wireless router/firewall for under $60 brand new, and set up would be a breeze.

Rgr that!  Have checked the wireless router vs. the access point and find that the wireless routers are indeed cheaper.

This is the first time I knew that a wireless router could be used with ethernet systems...... always thought that with a wireless router, each computer HAD to have a wireless NIC to access it.

Thank you very much.  Good job!

Glad I can help.. Good luck!
