Migrating from NT4 to 2000

I am moving users from an NT4 to 2000 DC. I downloaded ADMT to move the users, from the old domain to the new domain, but I cannot get ADMT to 'see' the old domain name and users.

I installed ADMT on the new DC. Do I need to install it on an old DC for the NT4 domain as well? Please advise. Thanks!

For ADMT to work, there needs to be a trust setup between the two domains. Have you setup a trust?

No, no trust, but the program seems to see both domains. It even rebooted my old PDC on NT4 from the W2K DC without a trust relationship set.

Please read the instructions to use ADMT. You NEED a trust....it doesn't work without it.  The trust is needed in order to transfer the accounts, etc from the old to the new domain.

As quoted from Microsoft:

"
Trusts
1. Configure the source domain to trust the target domain.
2. Configure the target domain to trust the source domain. "

I began the trust relationship establishment, and the NT4 domain controller cannot see the 2000 domain controller, but they can ping and such. The 2000 DC added the trust of the NT4 DC, so I know they are communicating...

Indeed, it was the trust relationship issue.
