how could you have AD installed without a DNS?  Installing a second DNS will not load balance requestes unless you tell clients to use it.

Hi

I suppose if DC 2 is a DC then DNS is already installed there. If it is not yet DC then you can run 'dcpromo' and tell it to be a part of existent domain. Also make changes on your DHCP scope so users obtains two DNS servers.

Regards.

Start 'dcpromo' on DC2. Follow wizard instructions, when asked say DC2 will be part of existent domain.
