virtual server problems

Trying to set up a red hat es3  box to host multiple domains and email, and ftp. I am having problems setting up virtual ftp servers, I have managed to connect to one account to ftp, but when I try to use another user I set up in the  same domain it does not work. I dont know if it is my virtual ips or a permissions problem. I used webmin with virtualmin to setup these accounts. But I also set up virtual ftp server on its own(proftpd) still no work. I have virtual ips connected to my eth0.
they look like this eth0,eth0:1(195.168.5.3),eth0:2(192.168.5.2). Iptables is set to let ftp and http thru, do i need seperate rules in iptables for eth0:1(192.168.5.2)? Do my virtual ips need to be passed thu iptables maybe? What is the easiest to set up for virtual servers vsftpd of proftpd?
thanks,
Tim
