This is a convoluted question and I appoligize ahead of time.
The person who set up our network previous to me ever arriving set it up with the domain name of company-int.com for internal DNS.
Our website is www.company.com
. We also have a website that is b2b.company.com.
What we need to have happen is when an user inside our firewall types in b2b.company.com or www.company.com
for it to resolve to the internal server without trying to go outside the firewall to an external DNS server. Because the pervious person mistakenly set up our internal domain name as company-int.com this is not happeneing.
As a band-aid I have set up the host files to point to the correct places and when users log in their log-in scripts make sure they are using the up to date host file, however I would like to solve this problem with DNS.
What will I need to do?
