Epson Perfection 1650 Scanner software error on XP
HI,
I have moved a user from Windows 98 to XP, and re-installed her Epson Perfection 1650 scanner.
She was happily using the in-built scanning facilities of XP when she then discovered she needed to scan weith transparency, and asked me to re-load the software that came with the scanner, which allows her a lot more functionality.
OK, no prob, says I.
However, when logged in as administrator, I can use the scan to file feature of the epson control panel, but when logged in as the user I get the following error:
"Unable to access the scanner because it is not ready or another application is using it. Please make sure that the scanner is on and connected to your computer, or close all scanning applications."
When I go into the XP scanner wizard, the scanner jumps to life and works no problem...
I did a couple of things already - gave her full control on the whole C drive - no use.
I briefly added her account to the administrators account just to see if it made any difference, but it didn't...
Any ideas would be most welcome....
Cheers.
Are you using XP Pro or Home? If, home, is the administrator logged in as well as your user account? If so, this could explain why it's saying it's in use...
